If I Had My Way

My mom has this new obsession - before it was just Boyz II Men (she still loves them) but now she cannot get enough of Robin Thicke. Remember I took her to meet him at the end of last year?! As soon as she found out he was performing at the Dell East this summer she bought tickets and sent me the confirmation.

It was a beautiful night for an outdoor summer concert - no humidity which was perfect for my hair!

This new artist Drew Chambers was really talented - he does a cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep which is phenomenal! Check it out on youtube.

Then there was Chrisette Michelle convincing me I needed to find a man so I could have my way...I had never seen her perform before and she was really good.

And Robin - what can I say about him?! He had on a 3 piece suit (I was kind of disappointed he took off the pink tie he initially had on before coming out, but he made up for it by having on the vest) - he really has a way with the ladies and knows how to work the crowd...and he def has the right philosophy...at the end of the day, a woman may want to talk, but more importantly she needs some of her man's therapy - that always relieves you when you are feeling stressed out, uptight, overworked, riled up. And to end the show he started rapping Niggas in Paris. Really Robin?!?! My dad kept whispering to me "does he know he's not black?".

Now of course both Robin Thicke and Chrisette Michelle will be in heavy rotation for the next couple of days and maybe even while I am on vacay.

But what a fun concert!!! I pretty much danced the entire time and I had to keep remembering my father was to my left especially when he started performing Shaking it for Daddy. Some times I just get caught in the moment, good thing he pays me no mind and just shakes his head.
