2018 Fall Watch List

It's our FAVORITE time of year! That's right, TV PREMIERE WEEK! (*Disclaimer: Not to be confused with our OTHER favorite time of year, the Hollyday's)

This is your number one TV connoisseur, Kyle, filling in for Holly, and I'm hear to tell you ALL about this season's newest shows, what's returning, and what Holly and I absolutely can't wait to watch! Let's dive in and take a look at our schedules! First, we have Holly's schedule (can't you tell because of all of the color coding?!), followed by my schedule (you can definitely tell it's mine based on how much is on it - I'm sure I'll convince Holly to add on to her schedule...).

I'll be rating new shows with my watch potential (1-10), with 1 being least excited to watch and 10 being extremely excited to watch. If you don't feel like reading, find the shows you want to watch below and click on the name to view the trailer!

Charmed (Sunday's at 9pm on The CW; Premiering 10/14)
I'm a little torn about this reboot. As a huge fan of the original series, I'm curious to see what they do and if they'll incorporate any reference to characters from the original. I've actually been doing a binge of the original series. The new series follows the lives of three sisters - Macy, Mel and Maggie - who, after the death of their mother, discover they are The Charmed Ones, the most powerful witches, and together they possess the Power of Three. Their combined powers are used to protect innocents and vanquish supernatural demons. WATCH SCORE: 7/10

You (Sunday's at 10pm on Lifetime; Premiered 9/9)
So far I'm loving this show. Based on the novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes, You follows Joe Goldberg (played by Penn Badgley, formerly of Gossip Girl), a bookstore manager who falls in love with a customer named Beck and quickly becomes obsessed with her. After two episodes, I'm addicted and can't wait to see what happens next. Click the show/hide button below to read my spoiler filled description of the first two episodes:

I really can't wait to see what happens next! WATCH SCORE: 9/10

Camping (Sunday's at 10pm on HBO; Premieres 10/14)
Based on the British series of the same name, Camping stars Jennifer Garner and David Tennant and was written and executive produced by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, both of whom wrote and EP'd Girls. The series follows Walt (Tennant), whose 45th birthday was supposed to be a delightful weekend back to nature, at least according to his obsessively organized and aggressively controlling wife, Kathryn (Garner). But when the camping trip gathers Kathryn's meek sister, holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited tagalong in one place, it becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman on woman crime that won't soon be forgotten. Plus, bears. I have to say, I'm not sure what to think of this show. I only have it on my list, because Lena Dunham. And most HBO 30 minute series haven't steered me wrong before, so I'll at least give it a try. WATCH SCORE: 4/10

The Neighborhood (Monday's at 8pm on CBS; Premieres 10/1)
The Neighborhood follows Max Greenfield (New Girl) and Beth Behrs (Two Broke Girls), the nicest couple in the Midwest who move into a "tough" neighborhood in L.A. where not everyone appreciates his extreme neighborliness, including their new next-door neighbor, Calvin (played by Cedric the Entertainer). All of the reviews I've read have said that this show is a "skip" for the season, and will likely be canceled. I feel as though CBS has had a hard time with 30 minutes sitcoms in the past few years. As far as I can remember, they haven't had a bit success in that category since The Big Bang Theory (aside from the TBBT spin-off, Young Sheldon). However, I think all of the above talent mentioned is hysterical, so I'll at least give it a shot! WATCH SCORE: 2/10

Happy Together (Monday's at 8:30pm on CBS; Premieres 10/1)
This is another one that hasn't gotten great reviews, and again, another potential miss for CBS. Happy Together stars Damon Wayans Jr. as Jake and Amber Stevens West as Claire, a thirty-something couple who are tired of their mundane life and start to reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when an emerging pop star, who is drawn to their super-normal suburban life, moves in. WATCH SCORE: 3/10

FBI (Tuesdays at 9pm on CBS; Premieres 9/25)
Starring Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue/Stick It), FBI is about the inner workings of the New York office of the FBI, bringing to bear all the Bureau's skills, intellect and mind-blowing technology to keep New York and the country safe. This is another one I'm on the fence about. CBS just isn't doing it for me this season, but I'll at least check it out. WATCH SCORE: 3/10

New Amsterdam (Tuesday's at 9pm on NBC; Premieres 9/25)
If there's one type of show I can always get behind, it's a medical drama! I think Holly would agree with me on that! New Amsterdam follows Dr. Max Goodwin (played by Ryan Eggold of The Blacklist/The Blacklist: Redemption) as he becomes the medical director of one of the United States' oldest public hospitals, aiming to reform the neglected facility to provide exceptional care to patients. This one also didn't have many great reviews, however, give me a medical drama and Ryan Eggold, and I'm all for it! WATCH SCORE: 7/10

The Rookie (Tuesday's at 10pm on ABC; Premieres 10/14)
Another one I'll check out, but not entirely sure on. The Rookie follows John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), a forty-year-old man, who moves from his comfortable, small town life to LA to pursue his dreamof being a police officer for the LAPD, in turn, becoming the oldest rookie. He must navigate the dangerous, humorous and unpredictable world of a "young" cop, determined to make his second shot at life count. I've never been a big fan of crime dramas OR Nathan Fillion. Let's give this one a try though. WATCH SCORE: 4/10

All American (Wednesday's at 9pm on The CW; Premieres 10/10)
When a rising high school football player from South LA is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High, the wins, losses and struggles of two families from vastly different worlds - Crenshaw and Beverly Hills - begin to collide. This show is definitely not a show I would normally check out (a show about football? nah!), however, Holly had it on her list, I heard there's a gay character, and Taye Diggs is in it, so I'm checking it out! WATCH SCORE: 5/10

A Million Little Things (Wednesday's at 10pm on ABC; Premieres 9/26)
A group of friends, who are intertwined in each other's lives, realize they need to start living more when one of them suddenly dies. I AM HERE FOR THIS - have ya'll seen the previews?!? Basically, there's a group of friends and from what I understand, one of them commits suicide, causing the group to re-evaluate their lives and make their bonds stronger. Wednesday can NOT come soon enough! WATCH SCORE: 10/10

I Feel Bad (Thursday's at 9:30pm on NBC; Premieres 10/4)
I Feel Bad follows Emet, a wife, mother, and career woman who "feels bad" when she deviates from her own standards of perfection while trying to "have it all". This is one that I was looking forward to, but then became torn based on reviews I read. They had an advanced preview of the first two episodes on 9/19 and I'm happy to report that I actually enjoyed it! That goes to show you not to trust everything you read! WATCH SCORE: 6/10

Manifest (Monday's at 10pm on NBC: Premieres 9/24)
When Montego Air Flight 828 lands after a turbulent but otherwise routine flight, the 191 passengers and its crew learn that while only a few hours passed for them, the rest of the world has considered them missing and presumed dead, for over five years. As the passengers try to reintegrate themselves into the world, some of them experience strange phenomena, leading them to believe "they may be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible". This is another one that I'm excited to check out, and I'm making Holly check it out too! It kind of reminds me a bit of Lost, with the exception that they aren't trapped on an island. And it involves some sort of supernatural element. WATCH SCORE: 8/10

I won't go into the returning shows, but know that Holly and I are excited for all of them! Have a show you'll be watching that's not on our lists? Leave a comment below to let us know what you'll be watching!
