Diving Between November's Covers

I need to get better with scheduling these. Let's just add blog time management & focus to 2020's goals. I did not read as much as I wanted to last month...but I did manage to get in 5 pretty good reads.

Butterfly in Frost by Sylvia Day
Goodreads Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Some days filth is the only thing that can get you thru. And let me tell you October was rough leading up until Halloween. And November started with me having to deal with the reality of decisions other people made. So yes, I buried myself in filth for a quick treat. Sylvia Day always seems to give it to me how I like it - and let me tell you...the end was a shocker!

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
Goodreads Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This one was all the rave on social media. Everybody loved this book and seemed to be shocked by the ending. Somehow I managed to untangle the mess before the end and LOVED when my suspicions were confirmed. This left me a bit disappointed instead of vindicated. I wanted to be blown away.

The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes
Goodreads Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was on the fence about this one. It was another period piece, however, it was released on my birthday. AND have you checked out the hashtag on social?! In any event, I let this book sit on my night stand way too long. I immediately fell in love with Alice, Margery, Izzy, Sophia, Beth, and Kathleen. I found myself rooting for them to win. Period. I need more of my friends to read this one so we can discuss.

Finding Home Again by Brenda Jackson
Goodreads Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you have read any of Brenda Jackson's Catalina Cove books, your curiousity had to have been piqued in regards to Kaegan & Bryce. WHY did they hate each other so much?! Let me tell you...finally reading about it was delightful. And I am team Bryce all the way!

And shall we discuss how soothing it is to always find home again with whomever or wherever that is?!

By Invitation Only by Dorothea Benton Frank
Goodreads Rating: ⭐️⭐️
Have you ever...maybe I should get the Brandy lyrics out of my head and finish my thought here...lol. In any event, sometimes what we think is best for us turns out not being exactly what we need. And sometimes we are forced to pivot regardless of what we want. In these moments are when you discover your core strength and values. Because nothing worth having is easy, right?! Well, that's my lesson from By Invitation Only
